An original building built in 1898 was destroyed by fire in 1950 and all that remained was the foundation.  Marsella Development rebuilt the property as it was originally but added a floor and was recognized by numerous historical and preservation societies for its respect of the original architecture.

Today, the East Office Building at 56 Exchange Terrace is home to accounting, engineering, law and renewable energy firms.
